These Terms & Conditions apply to all rentals made through Auto Rent Teqja, whether booked online, by direct communication, or through a written custom offer.
1. Parties and Acceptance
These Terms & Conditions govern the rental of vehicles by Auto Rent Teqja to the Client identified in the Rental Agreement and/or Booking Confirmation.
By completing an online reservation, accepting these Terms electronically, paying any booking amount, and/or signing the Rental Agreement, the Client confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
2. Driver Eligibility and Authorized Drivers
The vehicle may be driven only by the Client and by any additional driver expressly approved by Auto Rent Teqja and recorded in the Rental Agreement or Booking Confirmation.
All drivers must hold:
- a valid driving licence;
- a valid passport or identification document;
- any additional legally required documents.
Unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing by Auto Rent Teqja, the standard eligibility requirement is:
- minimum age: 22 years;
- minimum driving experience: 2 continuous years.
If the Client and/or any driver does not meet one or both of the above criteria, Auto Rent Teqja may, at its sole discretion:
- refuse the rental; or
- allow the rental subject to an additional security deposit, additional charges, limited protection, or other special rental conditions.
3. Booking, Confirmation, and Vehicle Availability
All online reservations are subject to vehicle availability and final confirmation by Auto Rent Teqja.
A reservation request does not guarantee a specific vehicle until confirmed.
Auto Rent Teqja reserves the right, where necessary, to provide a similar vehicle category or another reasonable alternative, subject to availability.
4. Rental Period
The rental period begins and ends on the dates, times, and locations stated in the Booking Confirmation and/or Rental Agreement.
The Client must return the vehicle at the agreed date, time, and location.
Late return may result in additional hourly or daily rental charges, as well as any operational losses or related costs caused by the delay.
5. Payment
The rental price must be paid in advance unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Any additional amount arising during or after the rental is payable immediately upon request, including but not limited to:
- excess mileage;
- late return;
- damages;
- missing items;
- extraordinary cleaning;
- smoking-related cleaning or restoration;
- fines, tolls, administrative fees, and penalties;
- cross-border charges;
- special requests or additional services.
6. Security Deposit
A security deposit may be required before vehicle handover.
The deposit amount, if applicable, shall depend on factors including:
- vehicle category;
- rental duration;
- selected protection package;
- driver age and experience;
- driver risk profile;
- destination and intended use.
Where a package is displayed as “No Deposit Required”, this applies only under normal eligibility and risk conditions.
Auto Rent Teqja reserves the right to require a deposit or special conditions in higher-risk cases, including but not limited to:
- drivers under the standard eligibility threshold;
- drivers with limited driving experience;
- high-risk vehicle categories;
- cross-border use;
- special itinerary or excessive risk exposure.
The security deposit may be used to cover any amount owed by the Client, including damages, excess mileage, fines, tolls, late return, missing items, cleaning, administrative costs, and contractual penalties.
Any remaining balance shall be refunded after final inspection and once all pending liabilities, if any, have been verified.
7. Vehicle Condition at Handover and Return
The vehicle is delivered in roadworthy condition together with its keys, documents, and listed accessories.
The Client must inspect the vehicle at handover and report any visible issue immediately.
The vehicle must be returned in the same condition in which it was received, except for normal wear and tear resulting from proper use.
The Client remains responsible for the vehicle until it has been physically returned, inspected, and accepted by Auto Rent Teqja.
8. Fuel, Cleanliness, Smoking, and Vehicle Care
The Client must use the correct fuel type.
The vehicle must be returned in reasonably clean condition.
If the vehicle is returned excessively dirty and requires extraordinary cleaning, an additional cleaning fee may apply.
Smoking inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited.
If the vehicle is returned with evidence of smoking, ash, burns, strong odor, or residue, Auto Rent Teqja may charge cleaning and restoration costs.
9. Mileage Policy
The included mileage allowance is the mileage allowance expressly shown in the selected booking package, Booking Confirmation, Rental Agreement, or written offer issued by Auto Rent Teqja.
If the selected package includes a fixed mileage allowance, that mileage limit applies to the entire rental period, unless otherwise stated in writing.
Any mileage exceeding the included allowance shall be charged at the applicable excess mileage rate.
Unlimited mileage applies only where it has been expressly confirmed in writing by Auto Rent Teqja in the Booking Confirmation, Rental Agreement, or written custom offer.
Unlimited mileage shall never be assumed unless clearly stated.
10. Insurance and Protection Packages
All rentals include mandatory basic third-party liability coverage, subject to the applicable insurance policy terms, exclusions, limitations, deductibles, and legal conditions.
Auto Rent Teqja may offer optional protection packages during booking or by written quotation, including packages such as:
- Basic;
- Standard;
- Full Protection;
- other custom packages or written offers.
Any optional protection package reduces the Client’s financial exposure only within the limits, exclusions, conditions, and procedures communicated by Auto Rent Teqja.
No protection package shall be interpreted as unconditional or unlimited insurance coverage for every type of damage, loss, or event.
11. Protection Package Liability Limits
Unless otherwise expressly stated in the Booking Confirmation, Rental Agreement, or written custom offer, the following maximum customer liability limits apply only to covered damage and only where the Client has complied with these Terms & Conditions, the Rental Agreement, and the required accident or damage procedure:
- Basic Protection: maximum customer liability up to €1,000
- Standard Protection: maximum customer liability up to €600
- Full Protection: maximum customer liability up to €300
These liability limits do not apply in cases excluded by these Terms & Conditions, including but not limited to unauthorized use, negligence, reckless driving, prohibited use, breach of contract, or failure to follow the required reporting procedure.
12. Full Protection Clarification
Where Full Protection is offered and expressly selected, it is intended to reduce the Client’s financial responsibility for covered damage to the rented vehicle, subject to these Terms, the Booking Confirmation, the Rental Agreement, the applicable exclusions, and proper damage or accident procedure.
Full Protection does not apply, and the Client remains liable, in cases including but not limited to:
- unauthorized driver use;
- false or incomplete declarations;
- prohibited use of the vehicle;
- driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any impairing substance;
- negligence, abusive driving, reckless driving, or gross misuse;
- off-road use, racing, competitions, testing, towing, or pushing unless expressly authorized;
- use outside the permitted territory without prior written approval;
- failure to stop the vehicle after warning lights or mechanical issues;
- failure to notify Auto Rent Teqja immediately after accident, theft, fire, vandalism, damage, or breakdown;
- failure to notify the police or competent authorities where required;
- failure to provide the required documents, reports, statements, keys, or evidence;
- loss of keys, loss of documents, loss of accessories, loss of equipment;
- interior damage, upholstery damage, burns, odor damage;
- tyre, wheel, rim, glass, mirror, underbody, clutch, or suspension damage, unless expressly included in the selected package in writing;
- any breach of these Terms, the Rental Agreement, or Booking Confirmation.
13. Prohibited Use
The vehicle shall not be used:
- for any unlawful purpose or criminal activity;
- for racing, competition, testing, driver training, towing, pushing, or off-road use unless expressly authorized;
- to transport dangerous, prohibited, flammable, or hazardous substances;
- by any unauthorized person;
- outside the approved territory without prior written authorization;
- in a negligent, abusive, improper, or reckless manner.
Any breach of this clause may result in immediate termination of the rental, cancellation of protection benefits, recovery of the vehicle, and full liability of the Client.
14. Client Responsibilities
The Client agrees:
- to protect and secure the vehicle at all times;
- to comply with traffic laws, parking regulations, toll rules, and road safety laws;
- to monitor warning lights, tyre condition, and the general operating condition of the vehicle;
- to stop using the vehicle immediately and contact Auto Rent Teqja if a warning light, technical issue, or damage occurs;
- not to repair, alter, open, dismantle, or tamper with the vehicle without prior authorization.
15. Accidents, Theft, Fire, Damage, and Breakdowns
In the event of accident, theft, fire, vandalism, damage, or mechanical breakdown, the Client must immediately notify Auto Rent Teqja.
Where required by law, insurance procedure, or the circumstances of the event, the Client must also notify the police or other competent authority.
The Client must not admit liability, settle claims, arrange repairs, or abandon the vehicle without prior authorization, unless immediate action is required by law or for safety reasons.
Failure to follow the required procedure may result in the loss of protection benefits and full liability of the Client.
16. Fines, Tolls, Penalties, and Administrative Charges
The Client is fully responsible for all fines, penalties, tolls, parking charges, towing fees, congestion charges, municipal penalties, and any similar costs arising during the rental period.
If such amounts are addressed to or processed by Auto Rent Teqja, the Client shall reimburse the full amount together with any administrative or handling fee.
17. Damage, Loss, Keys, Documents, and Accessories
The Client is responsible for any damage to the vehicle and for any physical or economic loss arising during the rental period, except where expressly covered by the selected protection package and not excluded by these Terms.
This includes, without limitation:
- body damage;
- interior damage;
- missing equipment or accessories;
- key loss or key damage;
- loss of documents;
- wheel or tyre damage;
- glass damage;
- misuse-related mechanical damage.
18. Cross-Border Use and Territorial Limits
The vehicle may not be taken outside Albania unless Auto Rent Teqja has given prior written approval.
Where cross-border use is approved, the Client must comply with all additional conditions communicated by Auto Rent Teqja, including any extra documents, fees, territorial limits, insurance requirements, Green Card requirements, and destination restrictions.
Unauthorized cross-border use is a material breach of contract and may void any protection package.
19. Early Return and Non-Refundability
If the Client returns the vehicle before the agreed end of the rental period, unused rental time is generally non-refundable, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Booking amounts, deposits for reservation, or promotional prices may be subject to their own non-refundable conditions as communicated during booking.
20. Termination for Breach
Auto Rent Teqja may terminate the rental immediately, recover the vehicle, and cancel any protection benefits if the Client:
- breaches these Terms;
- provides false or misleading information;
- uses the vehicle in a prohibited or unauthorized manner;
- fails to pay any amount due;
- creates risk to the vehicle, persons, or property.
In such case, the Client remains liable for all resulting loss, damage, costs, and legal consequences.
21. Priority of Contract Documents
In case of any difference between:
- these Terms & Conditions;
- the Booking Confirmation;
- the Rental Agreement;
- a written custom quotation or written approval issued by Auto Rent Teqja,
the more specific written document for the relevant booking shall prevail for that booking, except where prohibited by mandatory law.
22. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions, the Booking Confirmation, and the Rental Agreement are governed by the laws of the Republic of Albania.
Any dispute shall first be addressed amicably.
If no amicable solution is reached, the competent courts of Albania shall have jurisdiction.
23. Final Declaration
By completing the booking and/or signing the Rental Agreement, the Client confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions, together with any applicable pricing conditions, package details, deposit conditions, territorial restrictions, and protection exclusions communicated by Auto Rent Teqja.
