These Vehicle Rental Terms & Conditions apply to every vehicle rental service supplied under the Auto Rent Teqja brand, whether booked through the Website, email, telephone, WhatsApp, social media, direct communication, an authorized partner, or a written custom offer.
1. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms:
“Auto Rent Teqja”, “Company”, “Lessor”, “we”, “us”, or “our” means BM GROUP SHPK, operating under the Auto Rent Teqja brand.
“Client”, “Renter”, “you”, or “your” means the individual or legal entity identified in the Booking Confirmation and/or Rental Agreement.
“Driver” means the Client and every additional driver expressly approved by Auto Rent Teqja.
“Vehicle” means the rented vehicle together with its keys, documents, equipment, accessories, safety items, charging equipment, and any replacement vehicle supplied during the Rental Period.
“Booking Request” means a request for a Vehicle, vehicle category, rental period, location, Usage Package, or additional service.
“Booking Confirmation” means the written document or communication issued or approved by Auto Rent Teqja confirming the principal booking conditions.
“Rental Agreement” means the rental contract signed or electronically accepted before or at Vehicle handover.
“Rental Period” means the period between the confirmed pick-up date and time and the confirmed return date and time.
“Usage Package” means the selected or confirmed mileage package, including Basic Package, Standard Package, Unlimited Mileage Package, or another package displayed during booking.
“Protection Option” means Extra Protection, Full Protection, or another contractual protection arrangement expressly selected and confirmed.
“Security Deposit” means an amount blocked, held, or paid as security for the Client’s obligations.
“Incident” means a separate accident, collision, impact, or event causing damage. Unrelated events may be treated as separate Incidents.
“Written Communication” includes email, WhatsApp, SMS, booking-system messages, electronic documents, and other retrievable and verifiable electronic communication.
2. Parties, scope, and acceptance
These Terms govern the rental relationship between Auto Rent Teqja and the Client identified in the Booking Confirmation and/or Rental Agreement.
The Client is considered to have read, understood, and accepted these Terms by performing one or more of the following actions:
- completing or submitting an online booking;
- selecting the acceptance checkbox on the Website;
- confirming a booking by Written Communication;
- paying the booking prepayment, rental price, Security Deposit, or another amount;
- signing or electronically accepting the Rental Agreement;
- taking possession of or using the Vehicle.
The Client is responsible for ensuring that all authorized Drivers understand and comply with these Terms.
No verbal statement made by an employee, partner, or representative modifies these Terms. Any exception or special condition must be expressly confirmed in writing by Auto Rent Teqja.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts any right that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
3. Contract documents and order of priority
The rental contract may consist of:
- the Rental Agreement;
- the Booking Confirmation;
- a written custom quotation or special written approval;
- the selected Usage Package and additional-service details;
- these Terms & Conditions;
- payment instructions and the Privacy Policy.
Where documents differ, the more specific written provision for the relevant booking prevails over a general provision, provided that it does not conflict with mandatory law.
The general order of priority is:
- the signed Rental Agreement;
- the Booking Confirmation or custom written offer;
- expressly confirmed special conditions;
- these Terms & Conditions.
An exception approved for one booking applies only to that booking and does not create a binding practice for future rentals.
4. Pre-contract information
Before the booking is completed, the Client shall be shown or informed of, as applicable:
- the identity and contact details of Auto Rent Teqja;
- the requested Vehicle or category;
- the pick-up and return dates, times, and locations;
- the rental price and included taxes;
- the selected Usage Package and included mileage;
- the excess-mileage rate;
- the required booking prepayment;
- the Security Deposit where determined at that stage;
- the selected Protection Option;
- additional services and charges;
- the cancellation conditions;
- territorial and cross-border restrictions;
- age, driving-licence, and documentation requirements.
Every paid additional service must be actively selected or expressly accepted by the Client. An optional service shall not be treated as accepted merely because a system checkbox was pre-selected.
Charges depending on a future event, such as damage, fines, late return, or extraordinary cleaning, cannot always be calculated in advance, but their basis is described in these Terms.
5. Booking request, confirmation, and availability
Submitting a Booking Request does not automatically create a confirmed reservation.
A reservation is confirmed only when:
- Auto Rent Teqja has accepted or confirmed it in writing; and
- the required booking prepayment or full payment has been received, unless another arrangement has been expressly approved.
Availability displayed online may change before confirmation because of:
- another confirmed booking;
- delayed return of a Vehicle;
- accident, damage, maintenance, or technical inspection;
- system-synchronization delay;
- operational circumstances or force majeure.
The Client must verify the Booking Confirmation, particularly:
- the Client’s and Drivers’ details;
- the Vehicle or category;
- dates and times;
- locations;
- Usage Package;
- Protection Option;
- additional services;
- price and payment terms;
- cross-border authorization.
Any error must be reported without undue delay.
6. Specific Vehicle, category, and substitution
Unless a specific model has been expressly guaranteed in writing, the booking is for the confirmed Vehicle or vehicle category, subject to operational availability.
Where the confirmed Vehicle cannot be supplied, Auto Rent Teqja may offer:
- a similar Vehicle;
- a Vehicle in the same category;
- a higher category without additional charge where possible;
- another reasonable alternative;
- different dates with the Client’s agreement;
- cancellation and refund of the amount paid for the unavailable service.
A replacement Vehicle may differ in brand, model, colour, fuel type, transmission, model year, or equipment.
Where the alternative changes an essential booking characteristic, the Client may refuse it and request a proportionate remedy, including a refund for the service not supplied.
7. Price, taxes, and obvious errors
The confirmed price includes the items displayed in the relevant booking or quotation.
The price may change after confirmation only where the change results from:
- a change requested by the Client;
- extension of the Rental Period;
- change of location;
- addition of a Driver or service;
- cross-border use;
- a Vehicle change requested by the Client;
- a liability arising during or after the rental;
- a tax or public charge imposed by law.
Auto Rent Teqja may correct an obvious technical, typographical, currency, or system error before final confirmation.
Where a clear error is identified after automated confirmation but before the rental begins, the Client shall be offered the choice between:
- accepting the corrected price; or
- cancelling with a full refund of the amount paid.
Ordinary market-price changes do not justify changing a confirmed price.
8. Booking prepayment, cancellation, no-show, and withdrawal right
Unless otherwise stated during booking or in a written offer, a minimum booking prepayment equal to 20% of the rental amount is required.
The prepayment confirms the booking and reserves Vehicle capacity for the selected period.
If the Client cancels a confirmed booking, the prepayment is non-refundable unless:
- a different policy was stated for that booking;
- Auto Rent Teqja expressly agrees otherwise;
- cancellation results from Auto Rent Teqja’s inability to supply the service;
- mandatory law requires a refund.
For distance bookings relating to car-rental services to be performed on a specific date or during a specific period, the standard 14-day withdrawal right does not apply to the extent provided by Article 37/8 of the Albanian consumer-protection legislation.
A booking may be treated as a No-Show where the Client:
- does not appear at the confirmed place and time;
- does not communicate a material delay;
- fails to provide the required documents;
- provides invalid, expired, false, or incomplete documents;
- does not meet the Driver conditions;
- refuses to pay a confirmed amount;
- refuses an accepted and communicated Security Deposit;
- cannot complete the rental for a reason attributable to the Client.
In a No-Show case, the booking may be cancelled and the prepayment may be retained.
Where Auto Rent Teqja cancels a confirmed booking for a reason not attributable to the Client and cannot offer a reasonable alternative, amounts paid for the unavailable service shall be refunded.
9. Payment, currency, and payment methods
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the rental price is payable before or at Vehicle handover.
Payment methods may include:
- secure online card-payment link;
- bank transfer;
- cash where accepted;
- another method confirmed in writing.
Availability of a payment method for one rental does not guarantee its availability for every rental.
Auto Rent Teqja does not guarantee the availability of a physical POS terminal unless expressly confirmed.
Payment shall be made in the currency stated in the Booking Confirmation. Where another currency is accepted, the conversion rate or converted amount shall be determined by agreement or by the relevant payment provider.
The Client is responsible for:
- bank fees;
- card-provider fees;
- foreign-exchange costs;
- transfer costs;
- costs caused by an unjustified reversal or payment dispute.
Any additional amount arising during or after the rental is payable following presentation of the relevant request and supporting information.
10. Rental Period, extensions, and late return
The Rental Period begins and ends on the dates, times, and locations stated in the Booking Confirmation and/or Rental Agreement.
Every extension requires prior written approval.
An extension is not approved merely because the Client:
- submitted a request;
- continues using the Vehicle;
- made a partial payment;
- is unable to return the Vehicle on time.
An extension may be subject to:
- an updated rental rate;
- advance payment;
- a new agreement or addendum;
- a new Usage Package;
- a revised Security Deposit;
- revised territorial conditions.
Late return without approval may result in:
- hourly or daily charges;
- loss of promotional pricing;
- documented operational-reorganization costs;
- proven loss caused by disruption of a subsequent booking;
- lawful Vehicle-recovery measures.
Possession after the agreed return time does not automatically renew the rental.
11. Pick-up, delivery, airport coordination, and waiting
The Vehicle shall be supplied at the confirmed location.
Locations may include:
- Tirana International Airport;
- Mullet Parking;
- an office or authorized location in Tirana;
- another location approved in writing.
For airport delivery, the Client must provide accurate information, including where requested:
- flight number;
- airline;
- arrival time;
- passenger name;
- an active telephone or WhatsApp number.
Auto Rent Teqja may monitor publicly available flight information for coordination. Monitoring does not guarantee identification of every delay, diversion, or post-arrival issue.
The Client must contact Auto Rent Teqja after arrival and follow the pick-up instructions.
Where the Client provides incorrect information, cannot be contacted, or is materially delayed without notice, handover may be rescheduled or the booking may be treated as a No-Show, depending on the circumstances.
Airport, parking, delivery, waiting, or collection charges apply only where displayed during booking or accepted in writing.
12. Driver eligibility
Every Driver must:
- hold a valid and legally acceptable driving licence;
- hold a valid passport or identification document;
- provide an international driving permit or translation where required;
- be physically and legally fit to drive;
- provide complete and accurate information;
- meet the applicable age and experience requirements.
Unless otherwise approved in writing, the standard requirements are:
- minimum age: 21 years;
- minimum driving experience: two continuous years.
Driving experience is calculated from the original licence issue date or other reliable evidence.
Where a Driver does not meet one or both requirements, Auto Rent Teqja may, following a reasonable risk assessment:
- refuse the rental;
- require a higher Security Deposit;
- apply a communicated additional charge;
- restrict the available Vehicle category;
- restrict or exclude Protection Options;
- apply territorial restrictions;
- require another primary Driver;
- apply other written special conditions.
An exception granted previously does not create an automatic right to another exception.
13. Additional and authorized Drivers
The Vehicle may be driven only by the Client and additional Drivers recorded in the Rental Agreement or Booking Confirmation.
Every additional Driver must independently meet the applicable conditions.
Auto Rent Teqja may require:
- a clear copy or photograph of the licence;
- identification;
- payment of the additional-driver charge;
- the Driver’s physical presence.
Allowing an unauthorized person to drive is a material breach and may result in:
- loss of the Protection Option;
- full Client liability;
- termination of the rental;
- recovery of the Vehicle.
The Client remains contractually responsible for persons to whom the Client gives access to the Vehicle.
14. Security Deposit
A Security Deposit may be required before handover.
The amount may depend on:
- Vehicle category and value;
- Rental Period;
- Usage Package;
- Protection Option;
- Driver age and experience;
- destination;
- cross-border use;
- itinerary;
- contractual history;
- reasonable identity or payment risk.
Where a package is displayed as “No Deposit Required”, this applies under the normal eligibility, use, and risk conditions declared during booking.
After confirmation of a no-deposit booking, Auto Rent Teqja shall not arbitrarily impose a new deposit at handover.
A deposit or new condition may be required only where, after confirmation:
- inaccurate or undisclosed information becomes known;
- the Driver changes;
- cross-border use is added;
- the Vehicle category changes at the Client’s request;
- an objective identity or payment concern arises;
- another material circumstance changes the risk.
Where the change is not caused by the Client and the Client does not accept the new condition, a proportionate remedy shall be offered, including cancellation and refund for the service not supplied.
The Security Deposit is security and is not:
- advance payment for damage;
- purchase of insurance;
- a maximum liability limit;
- evidence that no additional amount can become payable.
The Security Deposit may be applied against:
- damage;
- loss;
- excess mileage;
- missing fuel or charge;
- late return;
- fines and tolls;
- missing items;
- extraordinary cleaning;
- towing and recovery;
- unpaid obligations.
The remaining balance shall be released or refunded without undue delay after inspection and verification of known liabilities.
Release timing for a card authorization may also depend on the Client’s bank.
Refund of the deposit does not extinguish liabilities discovered later and relating to the Rental Period, including fines, tolls, latent damage, or third-party claims.
15. Vehicle condition at handover
Auto Rent Teqja shall supply the Vehicle in a condition suitable for the agreed use, taking account of its category, age, and mileage.
The Vehicle may be supplied with:
- keys;
- documents;
- safety equipment;
- tools;
- spare wheel or repair kit where equipped;
- recorded accessories;
- charging cables where applicable.
Condition may be documented through:
- a handover report;
- photographs;
- video;
- electronic checklist;
- odometer reading;
- fuel or battery level;
- date and time information;
- Rental Agreement.
The Client must inspect the Vehicle and immediately report any visible discrepancy not recorded.
Use of the Vehicle without reporting a visible discrepancy may be relied upon as evidence that the recorded condition was accepted.
This does not make the Client responsible for a latent technical defect that could not reasonably be identified during an ordinary inspection.
16. Return and final inspection
The Vehicle must be returned:
- on the confirmed date and time;
- at the confirmed location;
- with all keys, documents, and equipment;
- in accordance with the return instructions.
For an attended return, the Vehicle remains the Client’s responsibility until delivered to and accepted by an authorized representative.
Where an unattended, parking, or key-drop return is authorized, the Client must:
- park at the instructed location;
- lock and secure the Vehicle;
- return the keys as instructed;
- retain return evidence where reasonably possible;
- notify Auto Rent Teqja.
Final inspection may occur later where:
- return takes place at night;
- lighting or weather prevents a complete inspection;
- the Vehicle is excessively dirty;
- return is unattended;
- technical inspection is required.
The Client shall be notified of damage identified after cleaning or technical inspection, together with the relevant evidence.
For an unattended return, the Client is not responsible for damage proven to have occurred after the Vehicle was correctly returned, locked, and secured and practical control had passed to Auto Rent Teqja.
17. Usage Packages and mileage
The Usage Package determines:
- included mileage;
- the price associated with that mileage;
- any deposit notation displayed with the package.
Auto Rent Teqja may offer:
- Basic Package;
- Standard Package;
- Unlimited Mileage Package;
- another confirmed package.
Included mileage is the mileage displayed in the selected package, Booking Confirmation, Rental Agreement, or written offer.
Unless expressly stated otherwise:
- the Usage Package regulates mileage and price;
- it does not create insurance;
- it does not create damage coverage;
- it does not automatically include Extra Protection or Full Protection;
- it does not alter the Client’s obligations.
Where a fixed mileage allowance is stated, it applies to the entire Rental Period unless described as a daily allowance.
Mileage is calculated from the difference between the odometer readings at pick-up and return.
Every kilometre exceeding the allowance is charged at:
€1.00 per additional kilometre, unless another rate is stated in the booking.
Unlimited Mileage applies only where expressly selected and confirmed.
Unlimited Mileage does not authorize:
- abusive use;
- commercial transport;
- unauthorized cross-border use;
- use outside the approved territory;
- prohibited use;
- interference with the odometer or GPS.
“Refundable Deposit Required” means that the Security Deposit under Clause 14 applies and does not constitute a liability limit.
18. Mandatory third-party liability insurance
Every rental includes the mandatory basic third-party liability insurance required for road use, subject to the applicable policy, territorial limits, exclusions, and law.
Such insurance does not automatically cover:
- damage to the rental Vehicle;
- theft of the rental Vehicle;
- the Client’s contractual liabilities;
- excluded policy events;
- unauthorized Drivers;
- use outside the approved territory;
- personal belongings;
- costs not covered by the insurer.
The existence of mandatory insurance does not remove the duty to comply with these Terms and the accident procedure.
19. Contractual Protection Options
Auto Rent Teqja may offer:
- Extra Protection;
- Full Protection;
- another written protection arrangement.
A Protection Option applies only where:
- expressly selected;
- paid where applicable;
- confirmed in the booking or Rental Agreement.
A Protection Option is separate from the Usage Package unless expressly combined during booking.
No Protection Option constitutes:
- full casco insurance;
- unconditional coverage;
- all-risk insurance;
- a waiver for every type of damage;
- coverage for prohibited use;
- coverage for an unauthorized Driver.
The applicable liability amount applies per Incident unless expressly stated otherwise.
Separate Incidents may result in separate liability amounts.
20. Extra Protection
Where Extra Protection is selected and confirmed, it reduces the Client’s financial responsibility for covered accidental exterior damage.
Unless another amount is stated in writing, the maximum Client liability is:
€600 per Incident for covered accidental exterior damage.
Extra Protection applies only where:
- the Vehicle was driven by an authorized Driver;
- use was lawful and permitted;
- damage was accidental;
- Auto Rent Teqja was notified immediately;
- police or authorities were notified where required;
- the accident procedure was followed;
- all requested documents and evidence were supplied;
- no exclusion applies.
Extra Protection does not modify the mileage allowance and does not automatically remove the Security Deposit.
Extra Protection is a contractual limitation of liability and is not a separate insurance policy.
21. Full Protection
Where Full Protection is selected and confirmed, it reduces the Client’s financial responsibility for covered accidental exterior damage.
Unless another amount is stated in writing, the Client remains liable for up to:
€300 per Incident for covered accidental exterior damage.
Full Protection is not full casco insurance and does not provide unlimited coverage.
It applies only where:
- the Vehicle was driven by an authorized Driver;
- use was lawful and proper;
- damage was accidental;
- immediate notification was made;
- police and contractual procedures were respected;
- the requested evidence was supplied;
- no exclusion applies.
Where a package combines Full Protection with Unlimited Mileage or another mileage allowance, that mileage benefit applies only where expressly displayed and confirmed.
Parking sensors, cameras, and driver-assistance systems do not remove the Driver’s duty of care.
22. Common Protection exclusions
Extra Protection and Full Protection do not apply, unless an item is expressly included in writing, to damage or loss connected with:
- an unauthorized Driver;
- false or misleading information;
- unlawful use;
- driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or impairing substances;
- intentional, abusive, grossly negligent, or dangerous conduct;
- racing, speed testing, or training;
- towing or pushing;
- off-road use;
- unsuitable roads;
- use outside the territory;
- unauthorized cross-border travel;
- failure to stop after a warning;
- continued driving after damage;
- failure to notify immediately;
- failure to notify police where required;
- failure to supply documents, evidence, or cooperation;
- deliberate damage;
- leaving the Vehicle unlocked or keys unsecured;
- loss of keys, documents, or accessories;
- misfuelling;
- incorrect charging;
- interior damage;
- upholstery damage, burns, odour, stains, or contamination;
- animal-related damage;
- tyres, wheels, glass, mirrors, roof, underbody, suspension, or clutch;
- misuse-related mechanical damage;
- driving through water or flooding;
- overloading;
- unsecured loads;
- unauthorized commercial transport;
- seizure or impoundment caused by the Client;
- a material contractual breach.
Where an exclusion applies, the Client is responsible for the proven loss in accordance with applicable law.
23. Damage assessment and amounts payable
Damage or loss shall be assessed using reliable evidence, including:
- inspection reports;
- photographs and videos;
- estimates;
- invoices;
- parts pricing;
- labour costs;
- expert assessment;
- electronic data;
- insurance documents;
- other appropriate evidence.
Recoverable amounts may include, where reasonable and proven:
- repair;
- parts;
- labour;
- diagnostics;
- transport and towing;
- storage;
- recovery;
- missing equipment;
- cleaning;
- documented administrative cost;
- loss of use during a reasonable repair period;
- material diminution in value where proven;
- uncovered third-party liabilities.
The Client shall not be charged twice for the same loss.
Where the final amount is not yet known, a preliminary estimate may be issued and later replaced by a final calculation.
Normal wear resulting from proper use is not damage.
24. Fuel, charging, and operating fluids
The Client must use the correct fuel type.
The Vehicle must be returned with the fuel level required by the booking policy, normally the same level recorded at handover.
Where fuel is missing, the Client may be charged for:
- the missing fuel;
- a reasonable refuelling service cost.
No refund is due for excess fuel unless otherwise agreed.
In the event of suspected misfuelling, the Vehicle must not be started or driven and Auto Rent Teqja must be contacted immediately.
For electric or plug-in Vehicles, the Client must:
- use compatible equipment;
- follow charging instructions;
- protect cables and adapters;
- return the Vehicle with the confirmed battery level;
- report charging faults.
The Client must not add oil, coolant, AdBlue, or another operating fluid without instructions, except in a reasonable and immediate safety emergency.
25. Cleanliness, smoking, animals, and care
The Vehicle must be returned in reasonably clean condition.
Light dust or normal road dirt is not extraordinary cleaning.
An additional cleaning charge may apply for:
- excessive mud or sand;
- food or drink;
- stains;
- rubbish;
- bodily fluids;
- strong odours;
- animal hair;
- contamination;
- adhesive materials;
- another abnormal condition.
Smoking and vaping inside the Vehicle are prohibited.
Reasonable cleaning, deodorizing, and restoration costs may be charged where there is evidence of smoke, ash, burns, odour, or residue.
Animals are permitted only with approval and must be transported securely.
26. Duty of care and technical warnings
The Client must:
- use the Vehicle carefully;
- comply with traffic law;
- monitor warning indicators;
- monitor tyre condition;
- lock and secure the Vehicle;
- protect keys and documents;
- report every problem.
The Client must stop as soon as safely possible and contact Auto Rent Teqja in the event of:
- engine warning;
- overheating;
- low oil pressure;
- tyre-pressure loss;
- brake warning;
- abnormal noise;
- smoke;
- leakage;
- impact;
- a fault that may worsen.
The Client must not:
- continue driving where damage may result;
- repair or dismantle the Vehicle;
- authorize repair without approval;
- modify electronic systems;
- install equipment;
- interfere with GPS or safety systems.
The Client is not responsible for ordinary mechanical failure that was not caused or aggravated by misuse, negligence, or failure to respond to warnings.
27. Tyres, wheels, glass, clutch, keys, and equipment
Unless expressly included, Protection Options do not automatically cover:
- punctured or cut tyres;
- tyre sidewall damage;
- wheels and wheel trims;
- glass;
- mirrors;
- roof;
- underbody;
- suspension;
- clutch;
- keys;
- documents;
- accessories;
- charging equipment.
The Client is not responsible for tyre or mechanical failure caused solely by an inherent defect or normal wear.
The Client may be responsible where damage results from:
- pothole or kerb impact;
- driving on a flat tyre;
- unsuitable roads;
- overloading;
- failure to stop;
- misuse.
Lost or damaged keys may result in charges for:
- replacement;
- programming;
- locks or immobilizer;
- towing;
- spare-key delivery;
- reasonable operational loss.
The Client must not copy or attempt to copy a Vehicle key.
28. Prohibited use
The Vehicle must not be used:
- for unlawful activity;
- by an unauthorized Driver;
- under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
- for racing or testing;
- for driver training;
- for towing or pushing;
- off-road;
- on unsuitable roads;
- to transport hazardous substances;
- for paid transport without approval;

- outside the approved territory;
- in an abusive or dangerous manner;
- with passengers above the legal limit;
- with load above the permitted limit;

- in closed, flooded, or clearly unsafe areas.
A breach may result in:
- immediate termination;
- loss of Protection;
- recovery of the Vehicle;
- liability for damage and cost;
- notification of competent authorities.
29. Accident, theft, fire, vandalism, and damage
In the event of accident, theft, fire, vandalism, or damage, the Client must:
- stop safely;
- protect persons and the Vehicle;
- contact emergency services where required;
- notify Auto Rent Teqja immediately;
- notify police where required by law, insurance, or circumstances;
- obtain the parties’ details;
- take photographs and video where safe;
- preserve evidence;
- follow instructions;
- provide documents and statements.
The Client must not:
- admit liability on behalf of Auto Rent Teqja;
- settle privately without approval;
- sign an inaccurate statement;
- authorize repairs;
- abandon the Vehicle;
- continue driving where unsafe.
The Vehicle must not be moved from the scene where prohibited by law, police instruction, or insurance procedure.
Failure to follow the procedure may result in loss of Protection to the extent that the breach caused or increased the loss or prevented proper claim handling.
30. Breakdown, roadside assistance, towing, and repair
The Client must notify Auto Rent Teqja immediately of a breakdown.
The Client must provide:
- location;
- photographs or video where requested;
- warning information;
- description of the problem;
- an active contact number.
Where the breakdown results solely from a mechanical fault not attributable to the Client, Auto Rent Teqja shall make reasonable efforts to provide:
- repair;
- assistance;
- a replacement Vehicle subject to availability;
- another proportionate remedy.
A replacement Vehicle is not guaranteed immediately or at every location.
The Client may be responsible for assistance costs where the problem results from:
- lost or locked-in keys;
- battery discharge caused by equipment left on;
- misfuelling;
- empty fuel tank;
- depleted electric battery;
- tyre damage;
- off-road use;
- becoming stuck in mud, sand, water, or unsuitable terrain;
- negligence;
- failure to respond to warnings;
- another Client-attributable cause.
No repair may be authorized without approval, except in an immediate safety emergency where Auto Rent Teqja cannot be reached.
31. Cross-border use and territorial restrictions
The Vehicle must not leave Albania without prior written approval.
Unless otherwise approved, cross-border travel is permitted only where:
- the Unlimited Mileage Package has been selected;
- the Cross-Border Travel option has been selected and paid;
- every destination and transit country has been declared;
- every country has been approved;
- documentation and insurance requirements have been satisfied;
- special conditions have been accepted.
The standard Cross-Border Travel option covers one approved foreign country, unless otherwise confirmed.
An Additional Cross-Border Country option is required for every additional foreign country beyond the first, where applicable.
A transit country counts as a country for authorization purposes unless excluded in writing.
Cross-border charges do not automatically include:
- Green Card insurance;
- border insurance;
- tolls;
- vignettes;
- road taxes;
- environmental charges;
- other country-specific external charges.
Unauthorized cross-border travel is a material breach and may invalidate every Protection Option.
32. Fines, tolls, and administrative costs
The Client is responsible for:
- traffic fines;
- parking penalties;
- tolls;
- vignettes;
- congestion charges;
- towing;
- storage;
- impoundment;
- municipal charges;
- border charges;
- similar liabilities relating to the Rental Period.
Responsibility continues where a notice is received after return.
Auto Rent Teqja may provide the Client’s information to authorities or operators legally entitled to receive it.
Where Auto Rent Teqja must identify the Driver, process a notice, or pay an amount, the Client shall reimburse:
- the underlying amount;
- the administrative charge displayed in the price list or accepted during booking;
- where no fixed charge was stated, the reasonable and documented processing cost;
- necessary postage, translation, banking, or legal costs.
An administrative charge does not replace the underlying fine or toll.
33. Personal belongings and lost property
Auto Rent Teqja is not responsible for personal property left in the Vehicle, except where the loss results directly from intentional misconduct or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
The Client must remove all property before return.
A found item may be:
- stored for a reasonable period;
- reported to the Client;
- collected by the Client;
- shipped at the Client’s cost and risk;
- delivered to competent authorities where valuable or sensitive.
Unsafe, unlawful, perishable, or valueless items may be lawfully disposed of.
34. GPS, telematics, and security systems
Vehicles may be equipped with:
- GPS;
- telematics;
- electronic diagnostics;
- alarm;
- immobilizer;
- fleet-management systems.
Data may include:
- location;
- movement;
- mileage;
- date and time;
- fuel or battery level;
- fault codes;
- ignition status;
- unauthorized movement;
- technical or driving-event information.
Data may be used where necessary and proportionate for:
- security;
- theft prevention;
- recovery;

Return of the Vehicle or release of the deposit does not extinguish an unpaid liability.

Where the Client returns the Vehicle before the agreed end of the Rental Period, unused time is not automatically refundable.
A refund or credit applies only where:
- stated in the booking policy;
- accepted in writing;
- early return results from a Vehicle problem not attributable to the Client and no reasonable remedy is supplied;
- required by law.
Promotional or long-term prices may be recalculated where the actual rental period changes only if that method was communicated in advance.
39. Termination, recovery, and abandonment
Auto Rent Teqja may terminate the rental and require immediate return where the Client:

43. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms, the Booking Confirmation, and the Rental Agreement are governed by the laws of the Republic of Albania.
The parties shall first attempt to resolve disputes amicably.
Where no agreement is reached, the competent courts of the Republic of Albania shall have jurisdiction.
Where the Client is a consumer, this provision does not remove a mandatory jurisdictional or consumer-protection right that cannot lawfully be waived.
44. Final provisions
Where a provision is invalid or unenforceable, it shall be limited or removed only to the minimum extent necessary. The remaining provisions continue in force.
Failure or delay in exercising a right does not constitute waiver of that right.
The Client may not transfer the booking, contract, or Vehicle without written approval.
Auto Rent Teqja may use employees, partners, payment providers, assistance providers, recovery providers, or IT providers to perform the service.
The version accepted on the confirmation date applies to the relevant booking.
A later version does not retroactively modify a confirmed booking unless:
- required by law;
- agreed by the parties;
- the change benefits the Client only;
- it relates to an accepted extension or new service.
The Albanian-language version is the official contractual version. The English version is provided for accessibility to international Clients. In the event of a material discrepancy, the Albanian version prevails, subject always to mandatory applicable law.
The applicable contractual documents constitute the entire agreement for the booking and replace earlier verbal statements or understandings, except Written Communications expressly incorporated into the agreement.
Payment, damage, fines, data, evidence, debt recovery, and dispute provisions survive return or termination where necessary.
45. Client’s final declaration
By completing the booking, making payment, taking the Vehicle, and/or signing the Rental Agreement, the Client confirms that the Client:
- has read and understood these Terms;
- understands the Usage Package;

- understands the difference between mandatory insurance and contractual Protection;
- understands the exclusions of Extra Protection and Full Protection;
- has declared all Drivers;
- has declared all destination and transit countries;
- has supplied accurate information;
- accepts the applicable payment, cancellation, return, damage, and cross-border conditions.
The Client must request clarification before completing the booking where any condition, price, package, deposit, protection arrangement, or territorial restriction is unclear.
