- Parties and Agreement
These Terms & Conditions govern the rental of vehicles by Auto Rent Teqja to the Client identified in the Rental Agreement or booking confirmation. By completing the reservation, accepting these Terms online, and/or signing the Rental Agreement, the Client agrees to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. - Driver Eligibility and Authorized Use
The vehicle may be driven only by the Client and by any additional driver expressly approved in writing by Auto Rent Teqja and recorded in the Rental Agreement.
The Client and any authorized driver must hold a valid driving license and valid identification documents as required by the applicable laws.
The Client may not assign, transfer, sub-rent, or otherwise make the vehicle available to any unauthorized third party.
- Prohibited Use
The vehicle shall not be used:
a) for any unlawful purpose or criminal activity;
b) for racing, competitions, testing, training, towing, pushing, or off-road use unless expressly authorized;
c) to transport dangerous, flammable, prohibited, or hazardous substances;
d) by any person under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance affecting driving ability;
e) in a negligent, abusive, reckless, or improper manner;
f) outside the permitted territory, if territorial restrictions apply and have been communicated by Auto Rent Teqja.
Any breach of this clause may result in immediate termination of the rental and full liability of the Client for all resulting loss, damage, costs, and claims.
- Rental Period
The rental period begins and ends on the dates, times, and locations stated in the Rental Agreement or booking confirmation.
The Client must return the vehicle at the agreed date, time, and location. If the vehicle is returned late, Auto Rent Teqja may apply additional hourly or daily rental charges, together with any related operational costs arising from the delay.
- Vehicle Condition at Delivery and Return
The Client acknowledges that the vehicle is delivered in roadworthy condition, together with its keys, documents, and any listed accessories.
The Client must return the vehicle in the same condition in which it was received, except for normal wear and tear resulting from proper use.
The Client remains responsible for the vehicle until it has been physically returned, inspected, and accepted by Auto Rent Teqja.
- Payment
The rental price shall be paid in advance or as otherwise agreed in writing by Auto Rent Teqja.
Any additional amounts arising during or after the rental, including but not limited to excess mileage, late return, damages, missing items, extraordinary cleaning, fines, tolls, administrative charges, or contractual penalties, shall be payable by the Client immediately upon request.
- Security Deposit
Where applicable, Auto Rent Teqja may require a security deposit before delivery of the vehicle.
The security deposit shall be retained as security for any unpaid rental charges, damage, missing items, excess mileage, fines, tolls, administrative fees, or any other sums owed by the Client.
Any remaining balance of the security deposit shall be refunded after final inspection of the vehicle and verification that no further charges are due.
- Insurance and Protection
The vehicle includes basic third-party liability coverage, subject to the terms, exclusions, limitations, and conditions of the applicable insurance policy.
Where offered and expressly selected during booking, the Client may choose an optional protection package, including Full Damage Cost Refundable, subject to the specific terms of that protection.
No insurance or protection package shall cover damage, loss, or liability arising from unauthorized use, prohibited use, negligence, reckless conduct, intoxication, gross misuse, or breach of these Terms & Conditions.
- Mileage Allowance
Unless otherwise stated in the Rental Agreement or booking confirmation, the rental includes the mileage allowance specified at the time of booking.
Where Standard Protection applies, the included mileage allowance is 100 km per rental day, and the total included mileage for the entire rental shall be calculated as 100 km multiplied by the total number of rental days.
Any mileage exceeding the included allowance shall be charged at the applicable excess mileage rate stated in the Rental Agreement, booking confirmation, or pricing conditions published by Auto Rent Teqja.
- Fuel, Cleanliness, Smoking, and Vehicle Care
The Client must use the correct fuel type and operate the vehicle with due care.
The Client must return the vehicle in a reasonably clean condition. If the vehicle is returned in an excessively dirty condition requiring extraordinary cleaning, Auto Rent Teqja may charge a cleaning fee.
Smoking inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited. If the vehicle is returned with evidence of smoking, odor, ash, burns, or similar residue, Auto Rent Teqja may charge a cleaning and restoration fee.
- Client Responsibilities
The Client agrees:
a) to protect and properly secure the vehicle at all times;
b) to comply with all traffic laws, parking rules, toll rules, and road safety regulations;
c) to monitor warning lights, tyre condition, and the general operating condition of the vehicle during the rental;
d) to stop using the vehicle and immediately contact Auto Rent Teqja if a warning light, technical issue, accident, theft, or damage occurs;
e) not to repair, alter, or tamper with the vehicle without prior authorization. - Fines, Tolls, Penalties, and Administrative Fees
The Client is fully responsible for all traffic fines, parking fines, tolls, congestion charges, municipal penalties, towing charges, and any other charges incurred during the rental period in connection with the use, possession, or parking of the vehicle.
If any such charge is sent to or processed by Auto Rent Teqja, the Client shall reimburse the full amount together with any applicable administrative or handling fee.
- Damages, Loss, Keys, and Documents
The Client is responsible for any damage to the vehicle, loss of keys, loss of documents, loss of accessories, loss of equipment, interior damage, wheel/tire damage, glass damage, or any other physical loss occurring during the rental period, except where such loss is expressly covered by an applicable protection package and is not excluded by these Terms. - Accidents, Theft, and Breakdowns
In the event of an accident, theft, fire, vandalism, damage, or mechanical breakdown, the Client must immediately notify Auto Rent Teqja and, where required by law or circumstances, notify the police or other competent authorities.
The Client must not admit liability, settle any claim, arrange repairs, or abandon the vehicle without prior authorization from Auto Rent Teqja, unless immediate action is required for safety reasons or by law.
- Replacement Vehicle
If the vehicle becomes unusable due to a technical defect not caused by the Client, Auto Rent Teqja may, subject to availability, provide a replacement vehicle or another reasonable alternative. No specific vehicle model can be guaranteed as a replacement. - Early Return
If the Client returns the vehicle before the agreed end of the rental period, the unused rental time shall generally be non-refundable, unless otherwise agreed in writing by Auto Rent Teqja. - Termination for Breach
Auto Rent Teqja may terminate the rental immediately, recover the vehicle, and cancel any protection benefits if the Client:
a) breaches these Terms & Conditions;
b) provides false or misleading information;
c) uses the vehicle in a prohibited or unauthorized manner;
d) fails to pay any amount due; or
e) endangers the vehicle, other persons, or property.
In such case, the Client remains liable for all resulting costs, damage, and legal consequences.
- Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions and the Rental Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Albania.
Any dispute arising from or in connection with the rental shall first be addressed amicably. If no amicable resolution is reached, the dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts of Albania.
- Online Acceptance of Terms
The Client acknowledges and confirms that these Terms & Conditions were made available during the online booking process and were expressly accepted electronically by checking the relevant acceptance box before completing the reservation.
Such electronic acceptance shall be deemed valid, binding, and enforceable as an integral part of the Rental Agreement.
- Final Declaration
By completing the reservation and/or signing the Rental Agreement, the Client confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions, together with any additional rental rules, pricing conditions, protection details, and policies published by Auto Rent Teqja or otherwise communicated during the booking process.
